She Can (Save, Educate & Empower)

Living Angels Foundation’s initiative ‘She Can’ is an effort to enable, equip and empower girl children with quality education, proper nutrition, good health, adequate skills, and above all a lot of self-confidence to help them live their lives to their fullest potential.

Save Girls

Save Girl Child initiative is a part of our social development process in society. We have seen since ages that in our society a girl child is being neglected. We have seen so many women around us who are suffering from social family problems due to not having a boy child. To completely abolish these kinds of social evils, our foundation creates awareness regarding the legal compliances of not keeping a girl child. Our foundation also has tries to encourage community to give birth to the girl child by making them aware in all the aspects.

Educate Girls

A mother, a sister, a daughter, a home-maker, a teacher, a doctor, a leader; women hold our worlds together in a million ways. A girl child comes into this world with just as many expectations, dreams and aspiration as a boy, but soon finds out that her way towards achieving them is much more challenging. The mere absence of an education and the many different set of rules that a girl has to follow according to the norms of the society makes her suffer mentally, emotionally and physically from a very young age.

Empower Women

Various studies, as well as our experience, have shown that when we work towards women empowerment, the whole society benefits. But unfortunately in India, far from empowering women, most are denied even their basic rights like health, education of girls for women empowerment, employment and a respectable status in society. ‘She Can’ the programme is specifically aimed at realization of both individual and collective self-esteem and inner strength for marginalised and socially excluded women and adolescent girls through innovative community practices. The programme identifies adolescent girls and women from the community and develops them into Change Agents, who in turn actively contribute to the community mobilization process. So far, ‘She Can’ through women’s education empowerment program and health programmes has successfully made a difference to the lives of over 7,500 women and girl children. This is also a step towards sensitizing the civil society at large and helping create a girl child/women friendly society to help her thrive.
