DESCRIPTION:In India\, there are 600 million young people living below the poverty line. The number of unemployed young people in India is 28.5 million! The reason why Living Angels is needed in the lives of these youngsters is because they need to reach sustainable livelihood opportunities. \nThe youth comprises over one-third of the Indian population which in turn constitutes a major part of the labour force of the country. The number of underprivileged youth in India who lacks education and proper guidance is so huge that according to the reports of the Financial Express only 15% of the young graduates passing out of colleges are employable; the rest are branded unemployable. \nIt is not their lack of theoretical knowledge that causes this. Instead\, it is the lack of right skills and attitude. There is thus\, an increasing concern among the leading employers of the country\, about the dearth of ready-to-deliver employees. In addition\, the macro perspective affirms that\, it is crucial for the energy of the underprivileged youth to be channelized properly with proper direction to aid economic growth and nation building to elude their addition to family woes\, social stress and national misery. \nLiving Angels Mutli E- learning Programme is such an initiative of Living Angels Foundation which through its e-learning education programme aims at creating a pool of young and independent people\, from a section of underprivileged youth\, through skill enhancement in tandem with market requirements. It is an effort towards bridging the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in the fast emerging services and retail sectors of modern India. \nThis national level programme through its Empowerment projects trains the poor and underprivileged youth in English Proficiency\, Basic Computer Education and Soft Skills for enhancing their prospects of employment in the fast expanding retail\, hospitality and BPO sectors. \nSo far\, thousands of youth have been trained through the e-learning programme.

DESCRIPTION:The food filled with the goodness of nutrients is nourishing\, gives a child strength; both bodily and mental\, also keeps them active and free from diseases. One of the most important aspect for any kind of development is taking care of children\, enabling them to grow up healthy. But the prevailing situation in India speaks otherwise\, we have constantly failed to provide the most basic care to our children\, providing healthy meals to them which results in stunted growth\, malnourishment etc. \nIf we look closely we can find two kinds of hunger among children; one that arises out of poverty. In a situation such as this children don’ get to eat at all; often they can found lurking behind garbage bins hunting for food or begging in the streets to feed themselves. In this case children do not or cannot afford an education. They are either engaged in some sort of labour or simply loiter in the hunt for food. The other kind of hunger arises not out of the lack of food but out of the lack of proper nourishment\, which can also be called hidden hunger. Hundreds of school going children suffer from hidden hunger. Parents provide whatever meal they can with the meagre amounts they earn but it doesn’t fulfil the need of proper nourishment. \nThat backdrop set our preliminaries for Suposhan – Nutrition. This initiative is to enhance education with adequate nutrition. While it is necessary to have underprivileged children attend school\, it is also just as important to have them eat regular meals in a day. \nThis initiative also aims to sensitize the teachers and families on the need of proper nutrition. The influence of nutrition on education is often ignored\, thereby deeming it necessary to highlight the relevance. \nMost of us have our plates filled with food. Now\, it’s our turn to come together and fill the plates of the children who are starving in hunger!

And yet again\, the socio-economically marginalized are the worst sufferers in this situation. Unhygienic living conditions\, poor sanitation and lack of awareness have only increased their vulnerability. They cannot afford private health facilities and now\, the overburdened public health facilities too have become inaccessible to them. \nLook around us – one pandemic has changed our world. It has become so obvious – Health Cannot be comprised in any manner! We are living in uncertainty every day. But for the poor\, this has been their entire life. Think about it. Poverty is a daunting enough burden in itself; add sickness to it and it has the power of crushing even the strongest\, as we are witnessing today. Let us not let them get crushed. Join hands to ensure health for all with Living Angels Foundation. \nOur Two Step Approach: \nFirst\, to provide primary healthcare services to the most vulnerable in urban slums\, and the hardest to reach families in remote rural areas. \nSecond\, to promote health seeking behaviour and improve living conditions among underprivileged communities to prevent people from falling ill.
